ABSTRACT

The study was conducted at the Department of Agricultural Economics, Faculty of Agribusiness Management, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka, Bangladesh to identify the profitability, distribution channel and efficiency of the channels.  The samples were collected from Jhikargachha  upazila under Jeshore district of Bangladesh during 2020. The Gerbera cultivation has change the economy of flower farmers. The study employed Cobb Douglas production function and Shepherd and Acharya marketing efficiency approaches to achieve the objectives. Data was collected from 100 gerbera farmers and 70 traders. Gerbera cultivation was highly profitable and Benefit Cost ratio (BCR) was found to be 6.32. Seven marketing channels were identified and among those, farmers got the maximum share at channel ⅵ. Presently Government should centralize on demonstrate e-flower business and equip training for skill development as well as comprehensive growth of flower industry.
