The study were randomly chosen on different universities including Dhaka International University, Department of English, during August to October 2018, students who were learning English as a second language and all participants were undergraduates and had experience with learning conversational skills in the classroom. Fifty (50) participants were selected based on homogeneity test and they were non-randomly divided into two control and experimental groups. The participants took a conversation exam as a pre-test and talk in pairs on various subjects. Finally, they took a post-test on the same subjects they had in the pre-test. From the analysis of data, a number of findings have come out and majority of the respondents confirmed that they do not feel comfortable having conversation in English. This paper aimed to examine to what extent students are aware of rule of English turn taking mechanism.
