 ABSTRACT

The study was conducted at the JTPDC Wing, Product Development Division, Product Design & Engineering Department, Bangladesh Jute Research Institute (BJRI), Dhaka, Bangladesh during January 2015 to March 2016. Natural fibers are again coming in the limelight of the modern world. Jute cotton blended yarn and fabrics are becoming attractive all over the world due to global warming and climate change. In this study wool fiber was also introduced with jute cotton fibers. A study on the physical properties of developed jute cotton wool blended suiting fabric is performed in this work. The blending ratio of jute: cotton: wool of our developed yarn is 40:40:20 which have been used as the weft yarn in the jute-cotton-wool blended suiting fabric. The physio-mechanical properties of the blended suiting fabrics were inspected such as tensile strength, stiffness, GSM, thickness, etc. The results and data of the study show that the quality of developed jute-cotton-wool suiting fabric is satisfactory. The hand feel and smoothness of blended fabric is also good.
