ABSTRACT

The experiment was conducted at the research field Youth Training Center, Gaibandha, Bangladesh to study the response of foliar nitrogen application method on the growth, yield and seed quality of wheat during the period from November 2017 to April 2018. The experiment was laid out in a single factor Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replications. There was four nitrogen application methods, viz., 50% urea of RDF soil application + 20% urea of  RDF foliar spray application at tillering stage (N1), 60% urea of RDF soil application + 20% urea of RDF foliar spray application at tillering stage (N2), 70% urea of RDF soil application + 20% urea of RDF foliar spray application at tillering stage (N3), 100% urea of RDF soil application (N4).With a few exception, morphological parameters like plant height, number of leaves, number of tillers at different days after sowing; yield contributing characters and yield showed better performance  at 70 % urea of RDF in soil + 20% urea of RDF in foliar spray application at tillering stage (N3) than the others nitrogen application methods. Among the nitrogen application methods, germination percentage and grain protein content significantly increased at70% urea of RDF soil application + 20% urea of RDF foliar spray application at tillering stage (N3).
