ABSTRACT
The importance of real estate study is a burning question as a growing business in the ever developing world. This study aims to explore status, performance, problems and prospects of real estate sector of Barisal city, a developing area of Bangladesh with this fast growing business. Further, the study has pointed out the contributing endeavor of real estate developers, profile of the projects, construction activities, financial aspects and their marketing polices.As this business is a new phenomenon in this city, only a few people show interest. The findings excavated the problems of this sector that were faced by the developers in different stages of their activities. The study also unveiled some information concerned with the prospect of estate business. Generally, the existing developers in Barisal are suffering from non-cooperative behavior from different supporting institutions such as bank for loanbut after examine it seems that there is a huge scope to enhance the business in Barisal city. Finally, some necessary steps have been suggested to overcome the problems identified in the study.
