 ABSTRACT

The study was conducted at the Pest Management Division, Bangladesh Jute Research Institute (BJRI), Dhaka, Bangladesh during April to July 2014 to evaluate the efficacy of candidate acaricides against jute yellow mite under natural condition at field level. Pot experiments were laid out at the net house of Bangladesh Jute Research Institute (BJRI), Dhaka and field experiments were conducted at Jute Agriculture Experimental Station (JAES), Manikganj and Sub-Station, Tarabo, Narayanganj. The verity O-9897 was grown in unit plot size of 2.1x 2m2 with three replication following Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD). Emperior 40 WG (Emamectin Benzoate + Thiomethoxam), Lamah 25 WP (Isoprocarb 20% +buprofezin 5%), Newrovit 80 WG (Sulfur 80 WG), Cosamil 80DF (Sulfur 80% DF), Shiropa 80WG (Sulfur 80%), Bonidon 80% WDG (Sulfur 80% WDG), Vitasulf 80 WDG (Sulphur 80%), Sulfovit 80 DF (Sulfur 80% DF), Supervit Plus 80% WDG (Sulfur 80%), Agrovit Gold 80 WDG (Sulfur 80 WDG) @ 120 gm/ha, 500 gm/ha,  2.20 kg/ha, 2.20 kg/ha, 2.20 kg/ha, 2.25 kg/ha, 2.20 kg/ha, 2.20 kg/ha, 2.20 kg/ha and 2.20 kg/ha respectively were found significantly effective against jute yellow mite giving more than 83% reduction of infestation along with significantly better yield performance over control plot at 5th day after spray.
