ABSTRACT

The study was conducted at the Department of Management, Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University, Trishal, Mymensingh, Bangladesh to identify the current women business situation, challenges and required the support of social media-based employee entrepreneurs. The study revealed that social media base employee entrepreneurs faced social, financial, and policy-related challenges. Besides, they are not equipped enough from the perspective of skills and knowledge for doing their business despite being well educated. A weak business strategy, low-quality products, lack of capital, inappropriate marketing tools, and lack of business integrity are marked as the critical factors for legging behind social media-based employee entrepreneurs. This study will help entrepreneurs to identify their drawbacks and ways to move forward. Besides, the findings of the study will provide direction to the concerned parties to solve the existing problems for the betterment of the economy of the country. Moreover, this study has suggested that customer relations, proper supply chain management, family support and availability of needed technology can strengthen the advancement of the social media-based women entrepreneurs in Bangladesh. In addition, future research direction also will help academics, practitioners and policymakers to open new endeavors.
