ABSTRACT
The purpose of a nuclear power plant is not to produce or release “Nuclear Power.” The purpose of a Nuclear power plant is to produce electricity. It should not be surprising then, that a nuclear power plant has many similarities to other electrical generating facilities. It should also be obvious that nuclear power plants have some significant differences from other plants. Nuclear energy is a mature, safe and reliable technology capable of supplying electricity and / or heat on a large scale, at an affordable price, and without pollution or greenhouse gases. Because of these virtues, and the technology’s ability to confer greater energy independence, governments around the world are turning increasingly to nuclear power as a central element in national energy strategies. The study was conducted at the Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology (DUET), Gazipur, Bangladesh during May to November 2011.
